Ex-Giant Taylor indicted on rape charge

Lawrence Taylor, 51, might face up to four years in prison after being indicted Wednesday by a Ramapo, N.Y., grand jury. Charges against the former New York Giants and Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker include third-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a juvenile. Chris Leibig, a New York-based attorney and legal expert, says such cases often result in misdemeanor charges. "Unless they have forensic evidence, I think it will be hard (to convict)," he said. Taylor was arrested May 6 after police said he paid a 16-year-old girl $300 for sexual favors. He has a July 13 court date. — Skip Wood
